A Successful Show at Showcase 2011- Creative Island
President Mary McAleese Patron of Year of Craft 2011 recently hosted a reception in Áras an Uachtaráin to celebrate Year of Craft 2011. The event took place on the 26th January and invited guests were craftspeople from Creative Island who had just completed a successful international trade event (Showcase Ireland) at the RDS and delegates from the Craft Summit that had taken place earlier that day at nearby Farmleigh House. A warm welcome and a blazing fire greeted the audience and the President spoke enthusiastically of her passion for traditional crafts.
